Super Cupcakes!
Just like many of my other cupcakes, I just looked up "Wonder Woman Logo" on Google Images, printed my favorite logos, then just try to make it on the cupcake. I know it takes practice with frosting (it's definately not like drawing) but it's definately worth the time to figure it out!

Star Wars Cupcakes!!!
I chose to model them off of the LEGO Star Wars characters, because their son's favorite video game (you guessed it) is LEGO Star Wars! Hehe!

Simple Can Be Great!
There is a growing trend in weddings where people are using cupcakes instead of large wedding cakes. I had done this for my sister's wedding.
I used a Wilton No. 21 Open Star Decorating Tip. I started from the outside edge of the cupcake and rotated the cupcake toward the middle with white buttercream frosting. I also had 2 Cupcakes 'N More® 38 Count Large Dessert Stands to display them. There are many other ways to display them too.
Here are a few examples I found on other blogs...
Tiered Pie Tin Organizer
Cupcake Tower
Cupcake Tower (made like the last one, but made square)
Hope this helps! Simple can equal ELEGANT!

Let's Talk Wedding Cakes
I cut the cardboards that the cakes sat on to the same size as the cake (with the exception of the base cardboard), so they were less noticeable, I also used doll rods to support each cake. I cut 4 rods to the depth of the bottom cake, then put them in the center of the cake then placed the next cake on top. I repeated that process for the next layer. I thought that a wedding cake was going to be impossible. I didn't think I could pull it off, but I was pleased with the outcome!

The Infamous Dexter Cake
I hope I don't get flamed for saying this, but I have not seen the TV show Dexter. I know about it and I'm definately interested in it, but I have yet to watch a full episode. I find the Dexter cake trend to be one of my favorites! It can be done by most people and they can be some pretty amazing & slightly shocking cakes, hehe.
This is one I made for my lovely cousin:
I did a basic round, simply decorated cake, then stabbed it with a knife then dripped red gel frosting from the cut and splattered some of it across the cake to simulate bleeding from a brutal stabbing.
Another tip I have is about the cake flavor. I think red velvet is perfect, because it is delicious and the deep red adds to the theactrics of the cake as a whole.
I hope this helps you on your Dexter cake adventures! >:)

Getting Creative
Using the Wilton Spaceship pan I've created a few different cakes;
Combining it with half of a small oval cake I created Toothless aka Night Fury from How to Train Your Dragon:
The pan was also perfect when I created an overhead shot of an X-Wing from Star Wars:
Another one of my favorites was another Star Wars cake. I use the Darth Vader pan:
I ended up making one of Darth's Imperial Guards:
I love going through pictures of my cake pan collection and just imagining which characters, animals, or other things I can create. I've learned that my pans can have so much more value when I think outside the box. I will probably post another blog entry on this same subject, because I've done this are even more occasions and I plan on doing it much more. If you're in need of help trying to figure out how you can make a cake you don't have an pan for, let me know and I may be able to help!
